Your East Coast Campervan Trip

Travel along Ireland's east coast and see some of the best Ireland has to offer. From the Garden of Ireland all the way to the Rebel County!

As the perfect destination for a campervan adventure, the east coast of Ireland is home to some of the most vibrant cities and beautiful scenery in the entire country. To help you plan your trip, here is a simple five day travel itinerary from us at Rambling Rover:  

First Day – Travelling From Dublin To Wicklow

You will need to head south towards Wicklow, or what is fondly referred to as the “Garden of Ireland”, after you pick up your van in Dublin. Here you will have a variety of attractions to explore including Glendalough – which is an early monastic settlement for Christians – the awe inspiring Wicklow Mountains and the Powerscourt Estate and Gardens.

Second Day – Travelling To Wexford From Wicklow

A pleasant coastal town famed for its stunning beaches and historical architecture, Wexford will be your next destination after departing from Wicklow. You can check-out the Wexford Opera House and The John F Kennedy Memorial Park while there.

While you are here, go and see some of the best beaches that Ireland has to offer like Brittas Bay or Curracloe.

Third Day – Travelling To Waterford From Wexford

A popular city famed for its rich cultural heritage and history, Waterford will be your next stop once you are done exploring Wexford. While there, you can explore some popular local attractions like the Viking Triangle, home to the oldest buildings in the city, and the Waterford Crystal Factory.

One of Ireland's most popular tourist attractions is the Waterford Greenway, bringing you from Waterford city all the way to the coastal town of Dungarvan.

Fourth Day – Travelling To Cork From Waterford

On the fourth day you will travel to Cork, a vibrant destination famed for its many family-friendly eateries, after departing from Waterford. Some of the popular attractions here include the Fota Wildlife Park and the Cork Butter Museum. Afterwards, you can explore the rest of the city and its environs for the remaining part of the day.  

If you are willing to venture a little further you can go and visit the beautiful Clonakilty. It is filled with wonderful local shops and cafes.

The Fifth Day – Back To Dublin From Cork

You will get the opportunity to check out everything that Dublin has to offer, on the fifth day, when you return your campervan. The city has something for everyone, from the National Museum of Ireland to the Dublin Zoo.

The best way to explore and experience Ireland’s vibrant cities, rich history and beautiful scenery is through a campervan hire adventure along the eastern coast of the country. Families of various ages can make memories and have fun exploring the Emerald Isle, thanks to the long list of attractions to they can choose from.
